DRAWING BOARD.

Well at first i wanted to create a film trailer for a horror movie,

i began to think of ideas,

and when i came across that certain bloody Dazed and Confused picture, the ideas came flooding , just as much as the blood in the picture.

I want to create a fast, quick motion video, capturing a horrific, gut grabbing event. Think Saw, I am Legend and anything else that makes you think "god glad thats fiction".

I did decide i wanted to create the music video for the song

'END OF DAYS'----BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

but now I'm not too sure,

the image below is a copy of the front cover of the

"Scream Aim Fire" album by bullet for my valentine.

End of Days front cover is fairly similar to this, i really like how special effects have been amplified to make the cover highlight the genre of the music.

With the camera angle titled up at the building and the birds situated above it almost makes the audience automatically look up, the colours of blues and the light neutral parted in between make the album cover the ability to stand out from the rest of the album covers on the shelf, it adds depth and atmosphere almost emphasising

So now i have decided i dont want to do end of days as the song but keep the same idea, i suppose its back to the drawing board.

I want to create a music video for a rock band such as

• Bullet for my valentine
• Rage against the machine
• Alexisonfire
• The Devil Wears Prada
• 
  

I have looked at various Bullet For My Valentine songs such as End of Days, Room 409

As well as this i have looked at Rage Against The Machine with songs such as 'Killing In The Name Of' .
I am still not sure, whether i will focus completely on bullet for my valentine or rage, as i am swaying towards a bit of arctic monkeys and the klaxons.

Sketches of possible ideas for music video ..

These images are basically just some thoughts onto paper, when listening to the song i began to construct ideas and possible outcomes to what i can do. I am rather excited about this project and working independently as i can pretty much do what i want, decide what i want, create what i want, choose the song i want, so im excited on that factor though i wouldnt have minded with working with some else, as then you can put ideas together to make an even better idea.

Sorry about the lightness of the images, i scanned them in without editing them (putting the contrast up) and so darkining them, i will bear this in mind for next time. The Sketch above basically highlights girls running up the stairs frantically for safety (these stairs can be located as you make an entrance to the common room, just past the art office. Here shots would be shown with th girls pushing the doors open, and facial expressions, quick movements, i think this is important as i want the song to reflect in the music video. And so this particular sketch i believe will work well.

The sketch above ^ highlights a scene where students evacute the school building due to the mysterious demon that is lurking the school and taking students, think harry potter and the chamber of secrets where students just go missing, this is the kind of effect i want to create in my music video for end of days. This also reflects in the song lyrics and says it all in the song title 'End of Days', anyway going back to the sketch, there is a poilce car outside the brigde that leads into the school (if you notice) you may have too look extra close, teachers are guiding the students out of the building in a line and past the police car, though i dont know whether i would be able to get hold of a police car. Mrs Fearnly when speaking to her about it, did suggest asking communtie officers or a police officer the next time they come down to the school. I still think this is highly unlikely they would offer time just for a video. LOL. Cameras would be positioned high and low, if you can see further into depth of the sketch you may see arrows or directonal lines, this basically indicates where cameras would be situated and so possible angles for camera shots.

The writing in the image above is a mere quick thoughtdown of possibly songs to use on my 'dazed and confused bloodshot picture influence idea' however although i am not quite certain whether i want to choose this idea for certain i am still considering what songs i could possibly use and so which one would be best suited. For example you wouldnt want a death ridden blood and gore music video to go with a song like KATY PERRY, ahah.

The Sketch above shows a breakdown of ideas towards my music video, one image shows a corrider and demon like figure crawling down the right hand side whilst two students walk past naivly, this is because the demon or mysterious figure cannot be seen by the humon eye. I want to add lots and lots of fog to this scene and so its seen as bit spooky and scary as without fog i dont think you could create the same effect, be a bit boring maybe?
i dont know if you can see these clearly, the next time i do sketches i may have to do it in a darker pen .

when coming up with ideas, i tend to work better just rambling aload of notes onto paper, and out of my head before i forget them .

DRENCH A FIGURE IN FAKE BLOOD AND THEN ADD A ROCK SONG IN THE BACKGROUND?

This is initially where my first ideas came from, having this photo as

an inspiration towards my project has given me the direction of where to look, what to do , what to think.
When i first spoke about my idea , i think people seemed to think i was mad.

I like particularly where the figure seems in distress though it is posed, and i think its so random, however it grabs you as an auidence, the attention. Like for example, i was just casualy flicking through DAZED, and this image just stopped me in my tracks, and since then i have been drawn to it, it has been a big influence into what i too could to grab the auidences attention in my music video.

TAKE NOTE....

"GRAB THE AUDIENCES ATTENTION- and you've created a successful music video."

After seeing the image above in the dazed and confused magazine i went to have a look on flickr.com to see what i could find, i just typed in blood and this is what i found, particularly quotes underneath were rather interesting.

"I soon find myself hunched over the bathroom sink watching globs of red blood land on the white porcelain."

Decided To Create A Music Video After All

Of the thirteen briefs i have chosen to create a

Music Video.

I have not been blogging as much as i may should have, this is because since the 12 briefs we were given i have been stuck on what brief to actually go with. I really wanted to take a way with the film trailer one, or the documentary , well pretty much everyone of them i wanted to have a go at. Shame you only have to do one.
Anyway i have been brainstorming ideas, talking to other students, talking to teachers and looking on Flickr for inspiration.

I have decided to create a music video.

At first i wanted to do a film trailer for a horror movie, but then thought actually with the ideas i have they could much suit a rock song better, i came across several ideas when flicking through dazed and confused they had a shoot of boys bathed in blood, against white walls, at the time i was listening to bullet for my valentine, and then click, it just came. Immediately i began to sketch ideas onto paper, on what could fit and what couldn't.
Anyway here's a few sketches of what I'm planning to do thought this isn't a certain, as i tend to mix up and change ideas allot.

Breifs? Hummm.

Thirteen Briefs and only having to choose one. oh.

Yesterday we received a sheet showing several proposals.
We are to choose one out of thirteen and from that decide another two within the heading.

Out of the thirteen brieifs i am swaying more towards brief 1,2,5,6,7 and 10, this is due to personal choice. Though in several 0f these breifs there is a choice to create a website or a radio advert, i will divert to choosing the other two headings such as making a poster or cover as one of my main weaknesses is website creating and so i would not find it enjoyable.

I really am stuck for choice on this, theres so much i want to do ahhh.
